Cell Phones and Floppy Disks

As cell phones have become more popular I have noticed that the amount of ruined floppy disks, and lost data, has increased.

I am not sure that cell phones are causing floppy disks to fail but it seems to me that cell phones are killing floppy disks.

Students have lost data on floppy disks while simply moving a floppy disk from the library just down to the computer room.  This has happened to several students who carried their floppy disk in their backpack, which also contained their cell phone.

I have noticed that since I got my cell phone I too have lost a lot of data that was stored on floppy disks.

There seems to be a relationship between cell phones and lost data.

I have also heard reports of cell phones making the electronic key cards used in hotels so they do not function.

Beware!
