The Worthless Counter program.
Before doing anything else open your network folder and create a new folder in your network folder. Rename the new folder "WorthlessCounter1" without the quotes. All work on this Visual Basic assignment must be saved in this new folder.
Step1) Open Visual Basic
Step 2) Create a new Standard EXE project.
Step 2a) Save the new project in your Network Folder in the new folder that you just created above. Be sure to save both the project and the form.
Step 3) Expand the Project window
Step 4) Expand the Form window
Step 4a) Change the Scale Mode setting in the Properties Window of the Form1 to be in inches, not twips.
Step 5) Click on the Command Button icon in the tool bar.
Step 6) Move the mouse into the form about 1 inch from the top and about 1 inch from the left side of the form window.
Step 7) Depress the left mouse button.
Step 8) While holding the left mouse button down move the mouse pointer down about 1 inch and over to the right about 2 inches.
Step 9) Release the left mouse button
Step 10) Single left click in the newly created command button. In the properties box change the Caption to "Press here" or "Click here"
Step 11) Click on the Text box icon in the tool bar.
Step 12) Move the mouse into the form about 1 inch from the top and about 1 inch from the right side of the form window.
Step 13) Depress the left mouse button.
Step 14) While holding the left mouse button down move the mouse pointer down about 1/2 inch and over to the right about 1/2 inches.
Step 15) Release the left mouse button
Step 16) Single left click in the newly created Text box .In the properties box change the Text Property to be empty. Erase the word that was in the Text box.
Step 17) Double click on the Command1 button to open the code box. In the blank line between the Private Sub and End Sub type Text1=val(Text1) + 1
Step 18) Run the program by clicking on the blue triangle. Click the Command Button and see if the counter is working. If it is working go to the next step else fix the problems until it works.
Step 19) Then again save your work as shown in Step 2a) above.
